Community Guidelines

MusixBarn Social is a platform built by musicians, for musicians and their fans. These Community Guidelines exist to keep the platform a safe, respectful, and creative space for everyone. By using MusixBarn Social, you agree to follow these guidelines at all times. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination depending on severity and context.

1. Be Respectful

Treat every member of this community with basic human dignity. Disagreements are fine — harassment, hate, and targeted abuse are not. This includes but is not limited to:

MusixBarn Social welcomes music across all genres — country, rap, metal, blues, folk, electronic, gospel, reggae, and everything in between. We believe deeply in artistic freedom and expression. However, certain content crosses lines that affect the safety and integrity of the platform and its community.

Music containing profanity or explicit language is permitted on MusixBarn Social subject to the following conditions:

When evaluating borderline content, MusixBarn Social considers artistic context, the artist's body of work, stated intent, community impact, and whether a reasonable person would view the content as having genuine artistic merit. We err on the side of artistic freedom wherever possible.

3. Platform Not Responsible for User Content

MusixBarn Social is a platform that hosts user-generated content. We are not the publisher, producer, author, or distributor of the music, posts, comments, images, or any other content uploaded by our users.

By uploading content to MusixBarn Social, you — the uploading user — assume full legal and moral responsibility for that content. This includes but is not limited to:

MusixBarn Social, its owners, officers, employees, and agents are held harmless from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from content uploaded by users. We are not liable for the actions, content, information, or data of third parties.

The views, opinions, and content expressed by artists and users on MusixBarn Social do not represent the views or opinions of MusixBarn Social, its owners, or its staff. The presence of any content on the platform does not constitute endorsement of that content by MusixBarn Social.

4. Copyright and Intellectual Property

Only upload music and content that you own or have explicit rights to distribute. This means:

DMCA Policy: MusixBarn Social complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe your copyrighted work has been uploaded to our platform without your authorization, please submit a DMCA Takedown Notice to support@musixbarn.com with the subject line "DMCA Takedown Request." Your notice must include: (1) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; (2) identification of the infringing material and its location on our platform; (3) your contact information; (4) a statement of good faith belief; (5) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate; and (6) your physical or electronic signature. We will investigate and respond within 5 business days. Users who repeatedly infringe copyrights will have their accounts terminated.

5. Authentic Identity

Be who you say you are. Impersonation and deception undermine trust in the community and may expose you to legal liability.

6. No Spam or Platform Manipulation

The timeline, groups, and community features exist for genuine human interaction and artistic sharing — not for marketing blasts, engagement manipulation, or commercial exploitation.

We take the safety and wellbeing of our community seriously. Content that promotes, glorifies, instructs, or provides detailed methods for self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, or other dangerous behaviors will be removed. We may, at our discretion, proactively reach out to users showing signs of crisis and provide links to appropriate support resources.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988. For emergencies, call 911.

9. Enforcement

MusixBarn Social enforces these guidelines through a combination of user reports, automated detection, and admin review. We reserve the right to enforce these guidelines at our sole discretion. Enforcement actions may include:

MusixBarn Social is not required to give advance notice before removing content or taking enforcement action against accounts that violate these guidelines. We are not obligated to restore removed content or reinstated banned accounts.

10. Appeals

If you believe content was removed or your account was actioned in error, you may submit an appeal by emailing support@musixbarn.com with the subject line "Content Appeal" or "Account Appeal." Please include your username, a description of what was removed or actioned, and why you believe it was in error. We will review your appeal within 10 business days. Appeal decisions are final. Submitting frivolous or bad-faith appeals may itself result in enforcement action.

11. Reporting Violations

If you see content that violates these guidelines, we encourage you to report it using the built-in report function on the post, song, or profile in question, or by emailing us directly. We review all reports, though response times may vary with volume. Submitting false, malicious, or bad-faith reports against other users is itself a violation of these guidelines and may result in enforcement action against the reporting account.

12. Changes to These Guidelines

MusixBarn Social may update these Community Guidelines at any time as the platform grows and evolves. Material changes will be announced on-platform with reasonable advance notice where possible. Continued use of MusixBarn Social after changes to these guidelines constitutes your acceptance of the updated guidelines. If you do not agree with updated guidelines, your remedy is to discontinue use of the platform.
