Mike Smith and the Dry Creek Bandits Michael Allen Smith didn't grow up chasing the spotlight. He grew up chasing sunsets across Midwest farm fields, turning wrenches, and spending weekends at dirt tracks where racing wasn't just a hobby—it was a way of life. Born in 1967 and raised in Davenport and Port Byron, Illinois, Smith was surrounded by music from an early age. His grandmother, Vernell, was a country singer, while her son George and nephew Ronnie performed with country bands throughout the Midwest for decades. As a young boy, Michael watched rehearsals from the sidelines, and at 19 he began working as a roadie, learning guitar and soaking up the art of storytelling through song. For most of his life, music remained a dream while racing, blue-collar work, and family took center stage. A lifelong racer, crew chief, mechanic, and storyteller, he spent decades collecting the experiences that would eventually become songs. In late 2025, something unexpected happened. After discovering Ella Langley's music, Smith found himself writing lyrics for the first time. The stories, emotions, and honesty he heard unlocked something that had been waiting for decades. What began as a creative spark quickly became a catalog of original songs ranging from heartfelt country ballads and racing anthems to humorous story songs inspired by everyday life. Writing under the name Mike Smith and the Dry Creek Bandits, his music reflects the people, places, and memories that shaped him—small-town America, dirt tracks, country roads, family traditions, hard work, and the hope that every story is worth telling. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Waylon Jennings, Garth Brooks, The Who, C.W. McCall, Jerry Reed, Tom T. Hall, Billy Strings, and many others, Smith blends traditional country storytelling with blue-collar authenticity and a lifetime of lived experience. Whether it's a song about one last trip around the racetrack, a forgotten back road, a small-town character, or a

Hey Mike,
Are you setting the songs with WaterMarks every 15 seconds on purpose?
Are you turning the Musix down 100% during the watermark audio on purpose?

We'd like to enjoy and feel the entire impact of your songs so I hope you don't mind...Just a suggestion...
Move your watermarks to every 30 or 60 seconds.

Reset the WaterMark volume balances; Set the Song Volume at 60% or 70%. This way the song doesn't STOP when the watermark appears.
Right now you have the song reducing 100% when the WaterMark arrives...this blacks out the song altogether. Personally, it's breaking the grove of your music and making the storyline harder to follow. It's all about GROVE and WORDS right?

As always, It is your prerogative, however, I think you can protect your Musix and give the listener a pleasant experience at the same time. You can have both worlds if you just adjust the balances a little.

You can adjust your watermarks where you upload your Musix in the first place.
NEW...You can now create a "custom watermark" using your own voice and your own message!

Just a suggestion.

Fueled by small-town nights, back roads, and the legendary spirit of Smokey and the Bandit, "Trans Am Bandits" is a love story on four wheels. It's about freedom, young hearts, and the kind of summer nights you spend chasing horizons instead of clocks.
