I had written a song called "TAKE IT TO THE RANCH." I took a run at converting that song from MALE to FEMALE. It didn't seem like such a stretch at first...but every line presented a new gender challenge. Before I knew it "TAKE IT TO THE RANCH" and "TAKE HIM TO THE RANCH" were miles apart in theme and spirit!
"TAKE IT TO THE RANCH" was about the experience of being in the country...4wheel muddin', BBQing, Midnight fishin' and havin' a toke or two. The MALE prospective.
